VISIONS OF THE THIRD EYE
6th Chakra Third Eye Chakra - Ajna
The Third Eye Chakra transcends time. It is located in the brain, at the brow, above the base of the nose.
The Third Eye is a natural part of every person. One way to think of it is as a “meta” organ that consists of your mind and all of your senses working together as a larger, more powerful sensory organ. The Third Eye is a very clever bit of natural evolution that allows you to see the patterns in your life. Even more amazing, your third eye can reveal these patterns to you by overlaying this information on top of your other senses.
As a sense, your third eye can be used in many different ways. Seers use their third eye to understand hidden connections and answer questions. Energy workers ‘feel’ the energies around them and to then consciously manipulate that energy. And every time you have empathy, you are using your third eye to touch and feel the emotions of others. Many other examples exist for how people use the Third Eye.
The gift of this chakra is seeing - both inner and outer worlds. The energy of this chakra allows us to experience clear thought as well as gifts of spiritual contemplation and self-reflection. Through the gift of seeing we can internalize the outer world and with symbolic language we can externalize the inner world.
The energy of Ajna allows us to access our inner guidance that comes from the depths of our being. It allows us to cut through illusion and to access deeper truths - to see beyond the mind, beyond the words.
The "way of the third eye" is seeing everything as it is from a point of "witness" or "observer", or from simply being mindful - moment by moment.
It means examining self-limiting ideas and developing wisdom that comes from a perspective that transcends the duality of good or bad, black or white. It means seeing and helping others to see the deeper meanings of the situations in their lives.
Sixth chakra is holistic in nature. When this chakra is fully activated, both hemispheres of the brain function in synchrony. The right hemisphere's creativity and synthetic thinking is integrated and balanced with left hemisphere's logical and analytical thinking.
The Third Eye is not only the seat of wisdom, but also a seat of conscience. This is where you not only see what is going on, but you also know what it means. This is where your sense of justice and your ethics originate.
When your third eye is open, you not only see but you also understand.

This is where imagination, intuition and insight reign supreme. The psychic tool of Clairvoyance, or clear seeing, also originates in this Chakra.
A clear 6th Chakra is the catalyst that sparks creative genius by uniting the left and right brain hemispheres, thereby merging the intuitive, feeling brain and the rational, thinking brain. And it is where the line between dreams and reality becomes blurred as one embraces the concept that we all have the power to create the life of our dreams.
Your self-image (or imagined self) is developed and perpetuated (and can be changed) in the 6th Chakra depending on how you use your “mind’s eye” to perceive your physical self, your qualities, and your characteristics. The choice is yours: You can see innumerable flaws or you can simply see perfection. This is also where creative visualization and the formation of one’s life visions come into play.
Inspiration is the natural by-product of a balanced 6th Chakra, and people with open 6th Chakras live inspired and inspiring lives. They are wise, discerning, perceptive, and imaginative individuals who believe in themselves and their abilities, because ultimately they rely on their inner voice to show them the way. They look outside the box for solutions to challenges. A unique sense of personal style and individualism frequently throws the spotlight on them, their work, their homes, or their passions.
An overdeveloped 6th Chakra can be seen in “know-it-all” personality types. They are judgmental, inflexible, and pragmatic. They must see something in order to believe it, and they rarely, if ever, pay attention to or follow their feelings or inner guidance. Their closed minds most likely will prevent them from seeing the “bigger picture” of their lives.
People with an underdeveloped 6th Chakra may be fearful of change, of standing out, or of being in the limelight. They may suffer from aimlessness, unclear thinking, or lack of concentration. They may be prone to “follow the crowd” or to go along to get along, even when it is contrary to what they want or believe.
THE THIRD EYE
The opened Third Eye is also known as the Middle Eye of Shiva, the Eye of Horus, and the Horn of the Unicorn. The Temple of Maat in early Egypt was dedicated to the process of opening the Third Eye. The Third Eye is an etheric, or fourth dimensional, eye. It acts as a sensitive receiver, and transmitter, by which vibrations of many different types can be translated, interpreted and dispersed into our third dimensional brains to gain wisdom and illumination. Through this EYE, inner planes, thought forms, and higher entities are perceived. A better sense of cause and effect is also acquired.

Opening the Third Eye
A great way to start using and tuning this sense is to connect to a power animal or learn shamanic journeying. A shamanic practitioner can assist you through a power animal retrieval or by guiding you on a shamanic journey.
Many people naturally suppress this ability, often to prevent others from making fun of them or labeling them as crazy. And, with enough suppression, any ability withers and goes away. You must use your third eye in order for it work. Also, how you use it shapes what it will be able to sense.
For all of these reasons and others, the Third Eye remains a mysterious ability.
